Before death, we always knew we were endings. It is said that a man cannot intentionally surprise himself, yet it never fails to startle our souls when we are called home to eternity, as if this temporary place holds more power than God. How poorly we manage ourselves. Inevitably, it is not demons we are always fighting, but rather, mishandled emotions, fragile egos, and volatile thoughts identifying as self. What will it profit a man if he gains the world, but loses his soul?
